Angels Montessori Preschool is celebrating over 23 years of building educational foundation of children in our community. We put only the best into them so that so they can go out and make our city great a better place to live. Therefore AMS tries to remain the number one Montessori school in The Bay Area.
The school was dedicated to the social, physical, and educational development of young children. We accomplish this by providing the finest fully certified Montessori teachers, not assistants, to run the classrooms. In addition, AMS utilizes the proven Montessori Method to educate children. This ensures each element of the whole child at their own pace. The school’s main goal is to foster the whole child to their full potential.

The Essentials
The Montessori environment
We have specially designed our classrooms for our children. Our school sits on over an acre with a large play and garden area. Our classroom is filled with sunlight streaming windows, and spacious, uncluttered classrooms. It is a world scaled down to the child’s size with low shelves that is a wealth of learning materials. The teacher moves unobtrusively through the child-space, working with individual children or small groups, assisting each according to need.
Within a flexible schedule, the school day is typically spent as follows: a long block of time used for individual or small group activities; periods of time for outdoor play where children have a chance use their large muscles for climbing, running, digging in the sand, right tricycles; a time for juice and snacks; and time for large group activities where the children enjoy music, dancing, puppetry, singing and story telling.
Accreditation
Angels Montessori School is a member of the American Montessori Society AMS. In addition to our affiliation with AMS, we are also licensed by the State of California.
Angels Montessori School is also a 5-star QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement Scale). This score is given by the Contra Costa board of education and California First 5 program.

Admissions
The process begins with your school tour to visit our school. Following your tour and meeting at our school we invite you to observe one of our classrooms to see how our teachers interact with our students. You’ll notice how well the children interact and self-direct their activities, sharing with others and learning at their own pace.
